Als & Kegnæs

Beautiful nature, exciting history and culinary culture

Enjoy your vacation on the Kegnæs peninsula in the south of the island of Als

With us you will find beautiful nature, close to the forest and beach. You can calm down and enjoy the day or do sports. Or you can spend the day visiting historical monuments such as Dybbøl Mill and the castles in Sønderborg, Gråsten, Augustenborg and Nordborg.

Sydals covers an area of 9,488 hectares, including the Kegnæs peninsula, which is connected to Als by a natural dam. You will find the best beaches on Als here, as well as several idyllic villages such as Lysabild, Skovby and the small fishing village of Mommark.

Let yourself be pampered by the culinary delicacies of our region, which are shaped by agriculture and fishing. Our original recipes have been refined over generations with a lot of care and love for the products and have thus become something very special.

Kegnæs is a peninsula in South Als with the lighthouse known from the weather forecast.

Sønderby Strand is located in an idyllic old fishing village right on the Baltic Sea. There are old thatched houses with hollyhocks, and the campsite is right in the middle, surrounded by the sea and fields. Next to the campsite is the settlement with the holiday homes that we rent out.

Sønderborg is the big trading city, with the university and the cozy harbor on the Alssund. The Univers Science Park is only half an hour away by car. A day trip to Legoland in Billund is definitely worth considering.

The Sønderjylland Magazine is available at ouer kiosk, or you can view it online here.

The stars shine brighter on Kegnæs

A special feature of Kegnæs that you only notice when night falls, is the darkness. Because on Kegnæs the stars shine brighter - here we are free from the light pollution of the big cities.

Thousands of stars can be seen on Kegnæs. You can see how the dark night sky arches. This gives you the feeling of being very small at the same time, but also the feeling of being part of something very big.

It is said that the darkness is good for people and animals. So enjoy the darkness, take your time, lie down on a blanket, look at the sky and let yourself be inspired by our starry sky.
